In a Spirit of Unity, SEAM Elects New President Giannis Kontellis – A New Chapter Begins

In a climate of unity and with heightened interest from industry members, the Annual General Assembly of the Association of Importers and Representatives of Machinery (SEAM) was held on Friday, May 23, 2025. At the heart of this year's proceedings was the election of the new Board of Directors, with Giannis Kontellis elected as the new President, marking the beginning of a new era for the Association.

Mr. Kontellis, head of P.J. Kontellis S.A., a landmark company in the agricultural machinery sector, earned the trust of his peers not only for his strong business track record but also for his integrity, institutional consistency, and clear-eyed approach to the major challenges of the time.

“These are demanding times that require coordinated efforts toward institutional centers. With a spirit of cooperation and unity, we will work together for a strong and assertive SEAM,” the new President stated shortly after the Board’s formation.

This year's Assembly was characterized by impressive participation, reflecting the growing significance of the Association at a time when the sector seeks clear representation and a modern voice. Kontellis’ appointment is seen as a choice that combines technocratic expertise, institutional depth, and a realistic strategic vision.

It is worth noting that during the Assembly, both the 2024 Financial Report and the 2025 Budget were unanimously approved. Additionally, honorary distinctions were awarded to Dimitrios Eskiadis (ALPELLAS S.A.) and Panagiotis Katsaros (PAN. KATSAROS A.E.T.V.E.)—two figures recognized for their longstanding and meaningful contributions to SEAM’s development.
